surah Baqarah last 3 Ayats

Exploring the Significance of Surah Baqarah’s Final Verses.

Explore the benefits and significance of surah Baqarah last 3 Ayats with us.

Surah Al-Baqarah is the second surah in the holy Quran and the longest surah with a total number of verses 286, and it falls in the Juz number 1. The benefits of surah Baqarah last 3 Ayat are many, and so are the benefits of reading the whole surah or listening to it, if you want to discover the significance of the surah then let’s get started.

Why is it called surah Baqarah?

Before we learn about the significance of surah Baqarah last 3 Ayats let’s first understand why it was called surah Al-Baqarah. It was called surah Al Baqarah after the story of the cow that is discussed in the surah:

“And ˹remember˺ when Moses said to his people, “Allah commands you to sacrifice a cow.”1 They replied, “Are you mocking us?” Moses responded, “I seek refuge in Allah from acting foolishly!”

They said, “Call upon your Lord to clarify for us what type of cow˺ it should be!” He replied, “Allah says, ‘The cow should neither be old nor young but in between. So do as you are commanded!’”

They said, “Call upon your Lord to specify for us its color.” He replied, “Allah says, ‘It should be a bright yellow cow—pleasant to see.’”

Again they said, “Call upon your Lord so that He may make clear to us which cow, for all cows look the same to us. Then, Allah willing, we will be guided to the right one.”

He replied, “Allah says, ‘It should have been used neither to till the soil nor water the fields; wholesome and without blemish.’” They said, “Now you have come with the truth.” Yet they still slaughtered it hesitantly!

This is when a man was killed and you disputed who the killer was, but Allah revealed what you concealed.

So We instructed, “Strike the dead body with a piece of the cow.” This is how easily Allah brings the dead to life, showing you His signs so that you may understand.” [Surah Baqarah, 67:73]

However, you should know that the title of the surah doesn’t indicate its subject matter. It is just a name used to distinguish the surah from the other ones.

What are the benefits of Reciting Surah Baqarah Daily?

As Muslims, we are instructed to recite the holy Quran as much as we can for its many benefits and teachings. The holy Quran is a source of guidance and protection, its verses protect us from any harm or illness. One of the surahs that is known for its many benefits is surah Baqarah, especially its last surah Baqarah last 3 Ayats and Ayat ul-Kursi.

Reciting Ayat ul-Kursi before sleeping, in the morning, and after prayers has many benefits to its reader. Our beloved prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:

“Whoever recites Ayat al-Kursi at the end of every obligatory prayer, nothing but death will prevent him from entering Paradise.” (Grade: Sahih, al-Mu’jam al-Kabīr 7406)

Therefore, we should strive to memorize it and recite it after every prayer. It is not difficult to memorize so don’t worry. You just need to repeat it a couple of times and that is it. let’s try that now, read the verse three times and then try to recite it by heart:

“Allah! There is no god [worthy of worship] except Him, the Ever-Living, All-Sustaining. Neither drowsiness nor sleep overtakes Him. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Who could intercede with Him without His permission? He [fully] knows what is ahead of them and what is behind them, but no one can grasp any of His knowledge—except what He wills [to reveal]. His Seat encompasses the heavens and the earth, and the preservation of both does not tire Him. For He is the Highest, the Greatest.” (Quran 2:255)

The last 3 Ayats of surah al Baqarah and the surah as a whole are of great significance to the reader. It protects you, your home, and your family from any harm and the whispers of the devil. So even if you can’t read it daily then you should at least listen to it.

Virtues and Benefits of Surah Baqarah last 3 Ayats.

Why should you recite surah Baqarah last 3 Ayats daily? What are their benefits and virtues? Here is a hadith that answers your question:

1. Protect us from any harm.

Reciting surah Baqarah last 3 Ayats in the night will protect you from the whispers of the devil and any harm until you wake up the next day.

Narrated Abu Mas`ud al-Ansari: The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, “If one recites the last two verses of Surat al-Baqarah at night, it is sufficient for him (for that night).” [Sahih al-Bukhari 5040, Book 66, Hadith 64]

It was narrated that ‘Abdullah said: “When the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was taken on the Night Journey (Lailat al Miraj), he came to Sidrah Al-Muntaha, which is in the sixth heaven. That is where everything that comes up from below ends, and where everything that comes down from above is taken from it. Allah says: When what covered the lote-tree did cover it! He said: “It was moths of gold. And I was given three things: The five daily prayers, the last verses of Surah Al-Baqarah, and whoever of my Ummah die without associating anything with Allah will be forgiven for Al-Muqhimat.” The sins of the worst magnitude that drag one into the Fire.”

2. Intercede for its reciter on the day of judgment.

The holy Quran will come to intercede for the one who recites it on the day of judgment. And as we learn from the above hadith reciting its verses is a blessing to us and we shouldn’t give them up.

Abu Umama said he heard Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) say: Recite the Qur’an, for on the Day of Resurrection it will come as an intercessor for those who recite It. Recite the two bright ones, al-Baqara and Surah Al ‘Imran, for on the Day of Resurrection they will come as two clouds or two shades, or two flocks of birds in ranks, pleading for those who recite them. Recite Surah al-Baqara, for to take recourse to it is a blessing and to give it up is a cause of grief, and the magicians cannot confront it. (Mu’awiya said: It has been conveyed to me that here Batala means magicians.) [Sahih Muslim 804a, Book 6, Hadith 302]

3. Surah Baqarah last 3 Ayats Grant us many rewards.

Surah Al Baqarah is the longest surah in the holy Quran. it consists of 286 verses, 6,201 words, and 25,500 letters. For every letter you recite, you will be rewarded with ten the like. Can you imagine the many rewards that you will earn for reciting 25,500 letters?

Narrated Muhammad bin Ka’b Al-Qurazi: “I heard ‘Abdullah bin Mas’ud saying: ‘The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “[Whoever recites a letter] from Allah’s Book, then he receives the reward from it, and the reward of ten the like of it. I do not say that Alif Lam Mim is a letter, but Alif is a letter, Lam is a letter and Mim is a letter.” [Grade: Hasan, Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2910, Book 45, Hadith 36]

4. Strengthens our faith in Allah.

surah Baqarah last 3 Ayats are of great importance that our beloved prophet instructed us to read every day at night. Also, from them, we learn that Allah will not put us on a test that is more than we can bear. Knowing this will strengthen your faith in Allah, and help you be patient through the hardship you are going through.

5. Making Dua.

The last verse from the last 3 Ayats of surah al Baqarah ends with a great dua that we should recite as much as we can.

“Our Lord! Do not punish us if we forget or make a mistake. Our Lord! Do not place a burden on us like the one you placed on those before us. Our Lord! Do not burden us with what we cannot bear. Pardon us, forgive us, and have mercy on us. You are our ˹only˺ Guardian. So grant us victory over the disbelieving people.”

Laa yukalliful-laahu nafsan illaa wus’ahaa; lahaa maa kasabat wa ‘alaihaa maktasabat; Rabbanaa laa tu’aakhiznaaa in naseenaaa aw akhtaanaa; Rabbanaa wa laa tahmil-‘alainaaa isran kamaa hamaltahoo ‘alal-lazeena min qablinaa; Rabbanaa wa laa tuhammilnaa maa laa taaqata lanaa bih; wa’fu ‘annaa waghfir lanaa warhamnaa; Anta mawlaanaa fansurnaa ‘alal qawmil kaafireen (section 40)

Last 3 verses of surah Al-Baqarah.

Let’s read the last 3 Ayats of surah al Baqarah, and be rewarded for reading them together:

To Allah ˹alone˺ belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Whether you reveal what is in your hearts or conceal it, Allah will call you to account for it. He forgives whoever He wills, and punishes whoever He wills. And Allah is Most Capable of everything.

Lillaahi maa fissamaawaati wa maa fil ard; wa in tubdoo maa feee anfusikum aw tukhfoohu yuhaasibkum bihil laa; fayaghfiru li mai yashaaa’u wa yu’azzibu mai yashaaa’u;wallaahu ‘alaa kulli shai in qadeer

The Messenger ˹firmly˺ believes in what has been revealed to him from his Lord, and so do the believers. They ˹all˺ believe in Allah, His angels, His Books, and His messengers. ˹They proclaim,˺ “We make no distinction between any of His messengers.” And they say, “We hear and obey. ˹We seek˺ Your forgiveness, our Lord! And to You ˹alone˺ is the final return.”

Aamanar-Rasoolu bimaaa unzila ilaihi mir-Rabbihee walmu’minoon; kullun aamana billaahi wa Malaaa’ikathihee wa Kutubhihee wa Rusulihee laa nufarriqu baina ahadim-mir-Rusulih wa qaaloo sami’naa wa ata’naa ghufraanaka Rabbanaa wa ilaikal-maseer

Allah does not require of any soul more than what it can afford. All good will be for its own benefit, and all evil will be to its own loss. ˹The believers pray,˺ “Our Lord!

Laa yukalliful-laahu nafsan illaa wus’ahaa; lahaa maa kasabat wa ‘alaihaa maktasabat; Rabbanaa laa tu’aakhiznaaa in naseenaaa aw akhtaanaa; Rabbanaa wa laa tahmil-‘alainaaa isran kamaa hamaltahoo ‘alal-lazeena min qablinaa; Rabbanaa wa laa tuhammilnaa maa laa taaqata lanaa bih; wa’fu ‘annaa waghfir lanaa warhamnaa; Anta mawlaanaa fansurnaa ‘alal qawmil kaafireen.
