surah for protection

The main purpose of the holy Quran is to guide its believers in all matters as it includes the words and commands of Allah (SWT) and provides complete guidance.

Which surah is good for protection? There are many beautiful verses in the Quran which provide protection if we recite them regularly but the most powerful surah for protection is the 3 Quls.

1.The 3 Quls

The three Quls refer to the last three chapters of the Quran, which are Surah Al-Ikhlas (Chapter 112), Surah Al-Falaq (Chapter 113), and Surah An-Nas (Chapter 114).

If you ask about the best surah for protection in the Quran, These chapters are magic as they are commonly recited for protection and seeking refuge in Allah from evil, harm and negative influences especially surah nas which is known as surah for protection from evil eye

Reciting these chapters regularly is believed to provide spiritual protection and blessings. It is recommended to recite them in the morning and evening, before going to bed, or whenever seeking Allah’s protection and guidance.

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “Recite Sūrah al-Ikhlās and al-Mu’awwidhatayn (Sūrah al-Falaq and Sūrah al-Nās) three times in the morning and the evening. It will suffice you in all respects.” (Tirmidhī).

Ā’ishah (raḍiy Allāhu ‘anhā) narrated that when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ retired to bed every night, he would hold his hands together and then blow into them. He would recite [Sūrah al-Ikhlās, Sūrah al-Falaq and Sūrah al-Nās) ] into them. Then he would wipe them over whatever he could of his body, starting with his head and face and the front of his body, and he would do that three times. (Bukhārī).

There are the Arabic text, transliteration and translation of the 3 Quls.

Allahu laaa ilaaha illaa Huwal Haiyul Qaiyoom; laa taakhudhuhoo sinatuw-wa laa nawm; lahu maa fissamaawaati wa maa fil ard; man dhal ladhee yashfa’u ‘indahooo illaa bi-idhnih; ya’lamu maa baina aydeehim wa maa khalfahum wa laa yuheetoona bishai’im min ‘ilmihi illaa bimaa shaaa’; wasi’a kursiyyuhus samaawaati wal arda wa laa ya’ooduhoo hifzuhumaa; wa Huwal Aliyyul ‘Adheem

“Allah! There is no god but He,-the Living, the Self-subsisting, Eternal. No slumber can seize Him nor sleep. His are all things in the heavens and on earth. Who is there can intercede in His presence except as He permitteth? He knoweth what (appeareth to His creatures as) before or after or behind them. Nor shall they compass aught of His knowledge except as He willeth. His Throne doth extend over the heavens and the earth, and He feeleth no fatigue in guarding and preserving them for He is the Most High, the Supreme (in glory).”

There are many Hadith which highlight the great importance and benefits of Ayat Kursi as surah for protection such as:

“In Surat Al-Baqarah, there is a verse which is the best of all the verses of the Qur’an”.

“In Surat Al-Baqarah, there is a verse that is the best of the verses of the Qur’an. It is never recited at home, but Satan is fleed: Ayatal Kursi.”

“Whoever recites Ayat al-Kursi immediately after each prayer, nothing will stand between him and entering Paradise except death.”

“Whoever recites the first four verses of Surat Al-Baqarah, then Ayatul Kursi, then the last three verses of Surat Al-Baqarah, no kind of difficulty will befall him with his money or himself, for Satan will not come close to him and he will not forget the Qur’an.”
